For recovery coaches and clinical professionals

Breath tests between sessions, on the record. Your call on every one.

Remote check-ins usually leave you piecing together texts, photos, and a client's word. Neotest sends the request, issues fresh spoken words, and receives one continuous video of the client saying them, blowing, and showing the reading. It keeps the original, notes what it observed, and waits for your decision. Nothing is cleared until you clear it.

ScopeNeotest is a working pilot. It is not clinically validated, and it documents a voluntary accountability practice that supplements, rather than replaces, lab or court-ordered testing.

The plan

Three steps from a new account to a reviewed check-in. The guided setup walks you through them.
1
Create a coach account and add a client
2
Send the client their instructions and assigned number
3
Walk through the first check-in together on a call, then review it

How a check-in works

One short procedure, recorded in a single take and reviewed by you.

Most remote monitoring asks the client to prove a negative. Neotest asks for a two-minute routine, then shows you the evidence at the moments that matter.

  1. 01

    A request goes out

You press Send test now, or a schedule fires. The client receives a message with preparation steps, a due time in their time zone, and a link that expires.

  2. 02

    Fresh words are issued

Opening the link, or replying READY, produces random spoken words bound to this attempt. They must be recorded within two minutes.

  3. 03

    The client records once

Words, breath sample, and final reading in a single take. Interruptions are flagged, never hidden. A retake is a new attempt; earlier evidence is kept.

  4. 04

The original is stored, then observed

Neotest keeps the original recording unaltered so it can be checked later, makes a playback copy, and asks a video model to note the words heard, the digits shown, and when each step happened.

  5. 05

    You decide

Watch the evidence at the marked timestamps. Record cleared, not cleared, or inconclusive with a note. Your decision is versioned and never overwrites the observations.

What your client sees

It all happens in their Messages app.

No app to install. The client gets a text, replies READY, records one video with the device in frame, and texts it back. Neotest confirms it was saved.

  1. 1The request arrives. Due time in their time zone and the preparation steps for their device.
  2. 2They reply READY. Fresh words to say are sent for this attempt only.
  3. 3They send one video. Face, words, breath sample, and the final reading on the BACtrack C8.
  4. 4Neotest confirms. Your coach is told there is a recording to review.

What you review

The reading, the observations, and your decision, kept apart.

A clinical record should say who observed what. Neotest stores the device's reading, the model's observations, and your decision as separate entries, so a later reader can see exactly where a conclusion came from.

Who sees what

One reviewer, one account, and a client who knows what they agreed to.

These are the access and consent rules as they work today, stated plainly so nothing is discovered later.

  • AccessOne account, one reviewerRecordings, observations, and decisions are private to the coach or clinician who enrolled the client. There is no shared or team access today; a program buys one account per reviewer.
  • What you can retrieveThe full record, on screenFor every test: the original video for download, the playback copy, every attempt, timestamps, AI observations, and each version of your decision. There is no report or bulk export today.
  • Client consentConfirmed before the first requestA client cannot be added until the coach confirms this statement: “The client has agreed to receive test requests and submit videos for coach and AI review.” Every request message ends with “Reply STOP to pause requests.” STOP pauses the client, cancels open requests, and tells them to contact their coach to resume.
  • RetentionPrivate original recordingsOriginal recordings are retained privately. Automatic deletion is not currently enabled. Workspace access ends when the subscription ends. Neotest requests deletion of the analysis copy from the video model after every assessment; the provider's own policies govern that copy.
  • Client noticeShown before the camera opensThe recorder labels each test “Private video · AI assessment and coach review” before recording starts, and tells the client their coach will review it. A late upload is labeled late to the client before they send it.

Schedules and notifications

Requests that run without you. Decisions that never do.

Requests, reminders, receipt, storage, and AI observations run unattended on a fixed daily time or a random window, on chosen weekdays, in the client's time zone. Every decision waits for you. Choose who hears about what, by text and by email, per client. Message bodies never include a name or a reading.

Notification rules for one client, as configured in the workspace
EventTextEmailWhat counts
Missed testDeadline passed with no recording. Cancelled or delivery-uncertain requests do not count.
Video submittedFirst recording received for a test, including late ones. One alert per test.
ClearedA saved coach decision of cleared. AI observations alone never trigger this.
Not clearedA saved coach decision of not cleared.
Consecutive missesFires once when a streak reaches the threshold you set, from 2 to 10. Any submission resets it.
Timing
Fixed time, or a random moment inside a window you define. Weekdays are chosen per client.
Response window
One hour by default, adjustable per request.
Recipients
Separate text and email recipients per client. A recipient can reply STOP to end their texts without affecting anyone else's email.
Edge cases, stated plainly
Daylight-saving shifts are handled; a window that collapses on the changeover day is skipped, not doubled. If the service itself runs more than five minutes late, that occurrence is skipped and you get a technical alert. It never sends a burst of catch-up tests or marks an unrequested test missed. Cancelled and delivery-uncertain requests never count as missed.

Price

Free for gratitudes. Pay for testing only where you need it.

Gratitude check-ins are free for up to 3 clients. The core plan is $50 per reviewing coach per month for any number of clients, custom questions, scheduling, messaging, and human review. Add testing only for the clients who need it, at $25 per client per month: breathalyzer and drug tests, with 125 AI-reviewed breathalyzer check-ins per billing period, renewing separately. A coach testing five clients pays $175 per month in total.

  • $50 USD per coach per month, billed through Stripe
  • Testing: $25/client/month · breathalyzer and drug tests · 125 AI-reviewed breathalyzer check-ins per billing period · no automatic overage charges
  • Reference device: BACtrack C8 in standalone mode. Other breathalyzers with a visible reading can be recorded; their screens are shown to you for interpretation rather than read automatically
  • Devices, drug kits, and human review are separate. Pausing or archiving a client does not cancel their Testing; cancel its renewal in Clients.
  • Each coach's workspace and recordings are private to that sign-in

Limits

What Neotest does not claim.

Confidence in a monitoring tool comes from knowing its edges. These are stated in the product and repeated here so no one discovers them later.

  • It is not clinically validated.

This is a working pilot. Reading interpretation is still being checked against real device recordings, and it has not been through a clinical validation study.

  • Spoken words do not prove identity.

They show the recording was made after the request. They do not establish who is on camera, that the device is calibrated, or that the video is unedited.

  • Confidence is not a probability of sobriety.

The model's confidence is an uncalibrated estimate about what it observed. Unclear screens, missing words, and unreadable digits always route to review.

  • Video is processed by a third-party model.

Recordings are sent to Google's Gemini API for observation and deletion is requested afterward. Originals stay in private storage under your account.

  • It is an accountability record, not a healthcare service.

Neotest is not covered by HIPAA and no business associate agreement is offered. Treat it as documentation of an accountability practice, not as a treatment record.

  • It is not a substitute for lab or court-ordered testing.

Neotest documents a voluntary accountability practice between a client and their coach or clinician. Whether a record is admissible is a court's decision, and Neotest has not been tested in court.

  • Oral-fluid screens are reviewed by people only.

Drug-screen recordings can be submitted and reviewed, but no panel is interpreted automatically today.
